Adela Baca, 94, of Barstow died Thursday, April 25, 2002 in Victorville. Born March 26, 1908 in Cabezon, N.M., Baca was a homemaker for 60 years and lived in Barstow for 30 years. She loved to crochet and had a special recipe for grandma's cookies that everyone loved. Baca also loved trips to Las Vegas and was an avid Lakers fan. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church for 30 years. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ernesto and Sophia Baca of Barstow; a daughter and son-in-law, Lydia and Joe Madrid of Barstow; and 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Baca was preceded in death by her husband, Felix, in 1986, a daughter, Estella Garcia, in 1993, and a son, Frank Baca, in 2001.
