Funeral service for John L Burnett, veteran painter and decorator, who dropped dead in the yard of his home 1813 Pennsylvania Avenue, Tuesday will be conducted from Linden Avenue Baptist Church at 2:30 pm Thursday. The Rev Robert Pierce, pastor assisted by Rev B M Larson will officiate. Mr Burnett was 61. He is survived by his widow, Mrs Burnett, one sister, Mrs Pansy Barclay, Chattanooga; two brothers, Ernest Burnett of Knoxville and Bryant Burnett of Paris, Texas. the body was taken to Hall and Donahue and later removed to the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs Geo Staples, 1722 Linden Avenue. Burial will be in the family cemetery on McCalla Avenue.∼Parents: Marion Preston and Amanda C. (Lusby) Burnett.
