Baldwin-Dr. Frank Ayer Gleason, Baldwin, 90, died Wednesday, August 8, at a Baldwin nursing home.
Dr. Gleason established his first chiropractic off ice at Morganville in 1924 before he moved in 1927 to Baldwin where he practices until he retired in 1963.
He was born Feb. 19, 1894, at the High Prairie Community northwest of Baldwin, the son of Charles J. and Hattie Holloway Gleason.
Dr. Gleason attended schools at High Prairie and Lawrence and Kansas State University. He graduated from the Palmer School of Chiropractic Medicine, Davenport, Iowa, in 1924.
He was a member and past worthy grand patron of Evangeline Chapter No. 162 of Order of Eastern Star and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Palmyra Lodge No. 23, AF&AM, the Rotary Club and Lloyd Beaton Post of the American Legion, all at Baldwin.
He was married to Helen Lydia Lennard, Feb. 14, 1921, at Morganville. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Harold F. Gleason, Topeka; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Freeman, St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Baldwin. Burial will be in Prairie City Cemetery near Baldwin. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rotary Club Scholarship Fund and sent in care of Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Baldwin
