Jerry Don Albretsen
"Together Again"

Jerry Don Albretsen, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, friend and devoted husband, passed away October 23, 2008 joining the love of his life, Sally, in heaven. Jerry will be deeply missed by his family and friends. We are sad for our loss but happy he is with his wife again.

Born September 5, 1935 in Smithfield, Utah to Ruth and Ivan Albretsen. He graduated from Ogden High School. He was commissioned into the Air Force as a Sergeant in 1953. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1957. He married his sweetheart Sarah Louise Thompson, February 9, 1959 and was sealed to her for time and all eternity at the Ogden Temple June 5, 2004. She preceded him in death on August 27, 2004.

Jerry worked in logistics as a traffic manager at Hill Air Force Base and the Defense Depot Ogden, retiring in 1993 after 36 years; he then began working part time at Petro Mart because he loved interacting with people.

He cherished the many friends he made throughout his life. Jerry especially loved going to breakfast at Dee's. He and Sally enjoyed many years of dancing with the Red Hots square dance club. Everyone who met him enjoyed his quick wit and joking humor. He touched so many people in his life.

He was a member of the Rock Cliff 6th Ward.

He is survived by his four children Debra (Stephen) Bowden, Jack (Marie) Albretsen, Teresa (Philip) Odekirk and Shawn (Colette) Albretsen; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by the following brother and sisters; Larry (Darlene) Thompson, Faye (Dennis) Hughes and Becky (Bo) Padget. He was preceded in death by Jack and Lois Clark and Gordon Thompson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 27, 2008 at 12 noon at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Friends may visit on Sunday, October 26th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
