Raised in McKees Rocks, PA, she accompanied her husband on tours of duty through Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, & the U.S. When he retired from the military, she continued traveling with him while he worked for the Amoco Oil Co.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Richard Leo Fischer, U.S. Army (Ret.).
Survivors include her children and their spouses Ann & Thanh Nguyen, Michael & Tricia Fisher, and Carolyn Fisher & Lars Helgert; grandchildren, Morgan & Taylor Fischer; sisters and a brother-in-law, Jean & Robert Butter & Carol Glantz; nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Alexandria, VA on Saturday, April 12, 2008. Graveside services followed on Wednesday, April 23, 2008.
