Frances Aleshire, 87, of Plymouth, died at 5:53 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, in Carthage Memorial Hospital in Carthage.
She was born Oct. 10, 1910, in St. David to Anthony and Angelina (Kovacich) Tomlianovich. She married Lee Aubrey Aleshire in Galesburg. He died on April 11, 1950.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Joan and LeRoy Ufkes of Carthage; one granddaughter, Frances Ufkes of North Liberty, Iowa; one grandson-in-law, Lacy Daniels of North Liberty, Iowa; two sisters, Catherine Tomlianovich and Sister Rosemarie Tomlianovich of Peoria.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Edgar Anthony "Eddie" Aleshire; five sisters; one brother; and her father-in-law, Edgar Aleshire.
Mrs. Aleshire was a graduate of Canton High School and a graduate of Saint Francis Hospital Nursing School in Macomb. She was a member of Saint Paul's Catholic Church in Macomb and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tennessee. She was a charter member of Plymouth Women's Research Forum and served as president. She was also a member of the Silver Tea Bridge Club in Macomb. She was a homemaker.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Saint Paul's Catholic Church in Macomb. The Rev. Richard Pricco, the Rev. J.A. Small. and the Rev. R.M. Lukoskie will officiate.
Burial was in Rosemont Cemetery in Plymouth. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 Wednesday at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Plymouth and from 9 a.m. until time of services on Thursday in the church in Macomb.
A rosary service was held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials were made to St. Paul's Catholic Church in Macomb, Immaculate Conception Church in Carthage or the Hancock County Nursing Home in Carthage.
