William Andrews, 74, died Friday, April 23, 1999, at Tompkins Memorial Health Center.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bruce's Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rudy A. DeRosa, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Dayton, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include sons Keith and Gary, both of Fort Dodge, William Evanston, and Norland, Kalo; daughter Mercedes Schwering, Lehigh; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters Amanda Rounds, Lehigh, Virginia Grossnickle, Harcourt, Elizabeth Grossnickle, Dayton; brothers Bennie, Evanston, and James, Lehigh. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Bridget West Andrews; wife Lauretta in 1978; one great-granddaughter; and sister Mary Pigman.

William Andrews was born June 25, 1924, in Evanston. He grew up and attended grade school west of Evanston. He married Lauretta Grossnickle in Fort Dodge in 1946. They made their home in Evanston. He worked at the Cardiff and U.S.G. Gypsum Mills and Vincent Clay. He became a resident of Grandview Health Care Center in 1995. He had been a resident of Tompkins Memorial Health Center for the last three weeks.
