Mrs. Juan Carabajal. Died at the shed of Mr Joseph Metzinger. Metzinger had set up a rifle to catch the person he believed was stealing tools.

The Carabajals took shelter, leaning against the door of the shed during a rain shower and Mrs Carabal was shot in the chest by the trap. The trap had been set to shoot at someone's legs who entered the shed, but Mrs Carabajal had sat down against the door and so the trap was deadly.

Metzinger was the owner of the Vienna Bakery on Gold Street. He was tried and acquitted.

Age 20.

Lived on Mountain Road. Name may be Ocariz.
