Louis G. Kovacs Jr., 62, Bedford, died at 4:34 p.m. Monday at the Bedford Regional Medical Center.

Born Nov. 27, 1946, in Flushing, N.Y., he was the son of Louis G. Kovacs Sr. and Mary (Plunkett) Kovacs. He married Sharon S. Dedrick on March 9, 1968, and she survives.

He retired in 1994 after 30 years at NWSC Crane.

He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church; Knights of Columbus No. 1166 and No. 1921 (4th degree), where he was a very active member, serving as Past Grand Knight; was past president of Lawrence County Right to Life; and was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam.

Surviving with his wife Sharon of Bedford; are two sons, Louis Kovacs III and wife Kimberly of Bedford, and Jason T. Kovacs, and fiancee´ Jessica M. Carter, both of Bedford; four grandchildren, Tyler Scott Kovacs, Allison Marie Kovacs, Emily Ann Kovacs, and Abigail Shae Dennis; two sisters, Patricia Ryan of New York, and his twin sister, Linda Hecker and her husband Peter of New Hampshire; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Rick Eldred and Deacon David Reising officiating.

Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
