Killed in A Runaway.
Fred Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.N. Smith, of Arkansas City, was killed in a runaway on his farm near Blackwell, Oklahoma, yesterday. Fred was plowing, when the team became unmanageable and ran away. He was horribly cut by the plow and died within a few minutes. His father and mother were summoned and made the trip to him in an automobile.
Fred was reared on his father's farm south of Hackney, and married W.W. Dowler's daughter, Icy. They have no children. Fred was thirty-two years of age.
The funeral will be held at Arkansas City, tomorrow morning at nine o'clock, and burial will be made in the Hackney cemetery.
