Joe F. Ellis quietly passed to his heavenly home Thursday, December 12, at 1:30 p.m. at his home near Leesville, leaving his devoted wife who stayed so patiently and sweetly by his side during the months of his illness. He will be sadly missed in the Leesville community where he was born and reared, he being the eldest son of the late Perry and Laura Ellis.

He was 59 years, 5 months and 5 days of age at the time of his death and he leaves besides his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Velma Lessner of San Antonio, Miss Sue Willo Henderson and Mrs. Neva Waswell and one grandson of Los Angeles , Cal., four sisters, Mrs. J. R. Davis of Leesville, Mrs. Mattie Coker of Dan Antonio, Mrs. Laura Mayfield of Falfurrias, Mrs. Grace Bratton of New Braunfels; three brothers, Albert Ellis, of California, Collins Ellis of Leesville and Jessie Ellis do Dewey, besides a number of other relatives who will sadly miss him.

Interment was made Saturday in the Antioch cemetery being buried beside the grave of his only son, Rev. King, his former pastor, conducted the services.

We extend profound sympathy in their loss, but dear ones weep not, for your loved one is sweetly resting in the love of his Redeemer who said: "Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." -Leesville Cor.
