Funeral services for David Wesley Leatherwood, retired farmer, were conducted from the First Baptist Church, 2 p. m. Wednesday, March 3. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery with Revs. Bill Merritt, A. R. Bilberry and J. P. Stevenson officiating and Hawkins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Leatherwood was born February 13, 1886 in Parker County and died in the Jack County Hospital Monday, March 1 after a lengthy illness. He was a retired stock farmer.
He was married to Maggie Breech near Jacksboro, January 17, 1906. He was a member of the Mountain Home Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Dorothy Endicott of Jacksboro; six sons, Loyd of Odessa, Jess and Joe of Jacksboro, Breech and Paul of Kermit and Harvey of Wichita Falls. Also 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one brother Frank of Jacksboro; four sisters, Lela Horton, Katie Evans, Mildred Dunlap of Jacksboro and Barbara Wagnon of Mineral Wells.
Pall bearers were Robert Evans, Leo Lane, Olan Teague, Kenneth Lane, J. D. Teague and Hubert Douglas.
