CHILD SWALLOWS SMALL WIRE
Infection Develops and Baby Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bailey Dies at Mercy Hospital

Naomi, the one and a half year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bailey of Yell township passed away Tuesday at Mercy hospital where she was taken a few days previous for an operation to remove a small piece of wire which became lodged in her throat. Last Thursday while the child was
playing she in some manner got hold of a small piece of wire and immediately the wire was placed in her mouth. In swallowing it the wire became lodged in
the throat and the parents took the child to Mercy Hospital where an operation was performed and the wire removed. The child passed through the operation nicely, but infection developed and she passed away Tuesday. The wire was thought to be a part of a bed spring which had broken off and fell on the floor.

Naomi Ellen Bailey was born June 24, 1925, and passed away December 7, 1926, aged on year five months and 23 days. Funeral services will be conducted today from the home of the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Bailey, conducted by Rev. L. C. Heck of the United Brethren church.

The parents have the sincere sympathy of all in the sudden taking away of this beautiful child.
