Anna was a big help to her father on the farm, as she was capable of doing any chore necessary. One she even dressed like a man as a practical joke. She work at the Masonic Home in Elizabethtown and also at Hershey Foods, wrapping chocolate kisses by hand. She married Charles Rhine at eighteen. Anna and Charles lived on a farm, where they produced and sold milk, chickens, eggs, vegetables and dandelions at the Hill Market in nearby Harrisburg. Anna enjoyed sewing, crocheting and quilting. She helped at the Faith United Church of Christ, occasionally assisting in donut production. Her recipe was so popular that they often sold more than 100 dozen donuts on a given Sunday. Anna and Charles has five children. Every Saturday, Anna and the family would go off to visit Grandma Gerberich. Contrary to instructions from their mother, the kids were always ready for Grandma's snacks, and more often than not, were rewarded with a generous helping of her delicious chocolate cake. In return, they would assist in combing mom's lovely, long (and thick) dark brown hair. The children meet every month on the third Friday, and discussed current events as well as family affairs.
