Mack was the son of John Quincy and Angelina Adams. At the time of his birth, the Adams family was residing in either Lincoln County or Garrard County, Kentucky - they had residences in both places.
Mack moved to Hickman sometime between 1868 and 1870.

C.M. ADAMS DEAD
C.M. Adams, well known to all as Mack Adams, one of the oldest and best known men of this section, died Thursday morning at 10:30 at the home of his son, Ed W. Adams, in Southern Heights, after a 2 days illness. Mr. Adams had been in failing health the past year or more but was able to be up and out and had taken a walk in the neighborhood on Monday. On Tuesday afternoon he fell in his bed room and struck his head but did not seem seriously hurt, becoming worse and lapsing into unconsciousness on Wednesday, with death following hardly a day later. Mr. Adams was about 80 years old and had spent most of his life in Hickman, operating a timber business here for many years, and was also a trader. His wife died several years ago and until the past two years, he had resided at his home on the Adams Hill. He was very active until about a year ago, looking after the buying of walnut timber for several years past.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ida Lassiter, of Metropolis, Ill., Mrs. Hazel (L.R.) Faville, now of Los Angeles, and three sons, John, of Cairo, Wess, of Nashville, and E.W. Adams, with whom he resided, several grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and two sisters, Mrs. Mat Peeples, of Los Angeles, and another in Crab Orchard, Ky.
Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the home of Rev. Duckworth of the First M.E. church, with burial at the City cemetery.
Mrs. Lassiter, of Metropolis, John Adams and wife of Cairo, and Miss Lerline Moran, of Memphis attended the funeral.
