Dan Bryant, son of Ananias Bryant and Sarah Sisk, suffered from recurring episodes of mood swings that sometimes resulted in physical threats to family members. During violent moods his family would have him committed to a mental hospital in Knoxville, where he spent much of his adult life. He died at Eastern State Hospital at age 54.
