Mable was the daughter of W. E. and Hallie May Edge Cox. She moved from Searcy, AR as a child to Savanna, where she had lived since. She married Walter Lee Smith on Dec. 15, 1928 in Searcy, AR. She is survived by three sons, W. L. and Mary Lou Smith of Weleetka, James and Lynn Smith of McAlester, and Ronnie Lee Smith of Savanna; four daughters and sons in law, Betty Marlow of Midwest City, Billie Dean and Welton Copeland of Bethel, Katie Carolyn and Hershel Graham of Carlsbad, NM and Patricia LaRue and James Harris of McAlester; two brothers, Ralph Cox and L.V. Cox, both of Searcy, AR and a sister, Marie Smith of Searcy, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and three brothers, Roy, Ross and Glen Cox.
