Sgt Meyers was a veteran of the Marine Corps of more than twenty years service, having reenlisted at Camp Hansen, Okinawa on April 1, 1963. Raymond was the husband of Alice Lolotai Meyers, residing in Oceanside CA, he was the father of * " Raymond E. Myers Jr., Violet, Marvel, Marvin Tautua, Rory Fa'Amita and Gustave."

He was survived by his sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Jorge of Pearl City HI, Mrs. Elizabeth Raposa of Haleiwa HI, Mrs. Fieda Caravalho of Hilo HI, and Mrs. Dora Robello of Honolulu HI. Also he is missed by two brothers, Mr. George Myers of Oceanside CA, and Mr. Welbert Myers of Curtis Town HI.

Raymond was assigned to H&S Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 3d MARDIV (Rein) FMF, in charge of the Battalion Armory. He landed with his unit on August 14, 1965 at the Marine Corps enclave at Chu Lai, Quang Tin/Quang Ngai Provinces in Vietnam.

Sgt Meyers died of a myocardial infraction at the Station Hospital NSA in DaNang, Quang Nam Province, Vietnam.
