Funeral services were held Tuesday in Arlington for Evelyn Carlson, 58, former Lake Preston resident, who died Friday at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Services were conducted at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arlington. She was born August 15, 1923 in Lake Preston to John and Teressa Olson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She married Alvin Moe on March 7, 1947 at Pipestone, Minnesota. To this union two children were born, Kenneth of Farmington Hills, Michigan and Carlo Ann of Brandon, So. Dak. Alvin died on Feb. 2, 1977. On Feb. 14, 1981, she married Alvin Carlson at Brandon, So. Dak. She is survived by her husband, Alvin; one son, Kenneth, one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Carol Ann) Severson, one step-daughter, Linda Johnson of Madison, So. Dak. and 2 grandchildren, Jennifer and Michael Severson of Brandon, So. Dak.; her father, john O. Olson of lake Preston; 4 sisters, Beulah Giles of Pocatello, Idaho; Ruby Jurczewsky of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Muriel Warner of Grass Valley, California; Charlotte Smith of Erwin, S.D.; and 4 brothers, Hubert Jensen of Lake Preston; Orville Olson of Madison, S.D.; Robert Olson of Lake Preston, and Wallace of Grace Valley, California, and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and a brother.
