Charles Maston Sitman, Jr. was born on a Monday, May 18th, 1896, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He was the son of Charles Meyer Sitman (1872-1954) and Sarah "Sadie" Eliza Bush (1874-1955). He completed three years of college work.

Charles married Rubye Belle Waller (1905-1976), on July 3rd, 1924, at Amite, Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana. They had a son (Charles Maston Sitman, III) and a daughter. Following Rubye's death, he married Emma Ella Toney (1904-2004), in 1976, at Independence, Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana.

Charles' vocation was selling life insurance. He was a gospel preacher for the church of Christ. His World War I registration form shows this. In 1921 "Maston Sitman, of New Orleans, with W. J. Johnson, of Amite, La., recently conducted a good meeting at Loranger, La. There were 14 additions, 11 of them baptisms. The congregation owns a good house with modern improvements, and "went for years on the innovation plan."
