William Dean Boman, 75, of Miami, Oklahoma, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at his home after a long battle with cancer.

He was born Aug. 26, 1933, in Elsmore, Kansas, to Dean L. and Ruth (Deer) Boman.

He was a graduate of Elsmore High School.

On Aug. 23, 1952, he married Alice Marie Gatewood in Nevada, Missouri. She survives at the home.

He worked in the trucking industry for more than 30 years, retiring from Indiana Western Express as a safety instructor.

He was a member of All Saints' Episcopal Church in Miami.

Other survivors include, two daughters and their husbands, (Ruth) Kay and Ken Harvey, Miami, OK, and Deana and Don Engle, Sapulpa, OK; two grandchildren, Deuce and Aimee Watson, Oklahoma City, OK, and Heather Watson and her fiance, Mark Jones, Sapulpa, OK; three step-grandchildren, Calton and Stephanie Harvey, Broken Arrow, OK, Amy and Matt Ensley, Greenville, TX, and Obadiah and Michelle Harvey, Las Vegas, NV; one great-granddaughter; four step-great-granchildren; siblings, Shirley and Vernon Shultz, Chanute, KS, Glen and Sis Boman, Bristow, OK, Phyllis and, KS, Sue and Rick Coultas and Dale Boman, Iola, KS, Tom Gatewood, Wyandotte, OK, Bob and Shirley Gatewood, Houston, TX, Jim and Darlene Gatewood, Wyandotte, OK; Larry and Sally Gatewood, Miami, OK, and Linda and Bob Colver, Welch, OK.

Two brothers, Ralph and Jeff Boman, and a granddaughter, Keli Marie Boman, died earlier.

Cremation was under the direction of Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home, Miami, OK.

Memorial services will be at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 225 B St. N.W., Miami, OK 74354. The Rev. Susan Connell will be celebrant. Burial will follow in Good Shepherd Memorial Garden at the church.

Memorials may be made to All Saints' Episcopal Church.
