The unexpected death of little Teddy Avery, Sunday, was a shock to the family's friends in Minneapolis. Although he had been ill with diabetes since July, it was believed that by the untiring efforts of his parents, sisters and friends, he would overcome his ailment. However, added to the original affliction was an attack of bronchial pneumonia, which, after a week's duration, was the immediate cause of death.

Teddy would have been 11 years old on Feb 23rd. He was the only son and youngest child of Mr and Mrs Archie Avery, and was an affectionate and loveable child. He liked school and had attended until the last year when, after trying 3 days to again continue with his class in the 4th grade, he was forced to give up the attempt. Perhaps his greatest pleasuring during his illness was having stories read to him.

Funeral services for Teddy, were held at the Presbyterian Church, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30. The pallbearers were: Irwin Hamilton, Arthur Bauerfind, Darrell Mase, John Beach, Louis Hahn, and Arthur Baker. Members of his Sunday school class and pupils from the 4th grade attended the funeral in body. Flowers, symbolic of the deep sympathy extended to his father and mother and sisters, Cecil and Florence, were many and beautiful.
