GEORGE WAYNE BROOKS passed away on February 15, 2009 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on April 2, 1946 in Houston, Texas to George Williams Brooks and Laurene Belle Taylor Brooks. George attended Brazosport High School in Freeport Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stephen F. Austin University in 1968. Upon graduation, he accepted a position at Jackson Junior High School in Houston, Texas where he taught history for 35 years. George was an avid sports fan and stamp collector. He will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Carolyn Ann Brooks. He is survived by his wife, Sue Ann Stateczny Brooks; daughter, Rose Greive; sons, Craig Brooks, Walter Kowalski, Chris Kowalski & wife Dawn, Ernst Greive; sisters, Theresa Ann Williams & husband Ronny, Diana Lynn Chism & husband James; grandson, Kevin Kowalsky; and numerous nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday-February 17, 2009 from 6:00PM until 9:00PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday-February 18, 2009 at 12:00 Noon at the chapel at Mission Park North. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park South.
