Name given at birth was Euphratus Clark, named after his grandfather Euphratus U. Clark. He changed it when he signed up to get his Social Security Card in order to join the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC).

CLARK, ARNOLD R., 80, of Oakdale, died Thursday, September 28, 1994 at U.T. Hospital after a long illness.

He was retired from TVA as a power line groundsman. As a member of the CCC's in 1935 he served in Jamestown, Pickett State Park and Chatsworth; Georgia. Mr. Clark was ordained as a minister in September of 1948.

Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie & Mae Coffey Clark; sister, Charlene Clark and infant daughter and son, Nancy Lee Clark and Stephen Clark.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Alline Brooks Clark of Oakdale; daughters, Mary Hamby of Corryton and Barbara Goodman of Knoxville; son William A. (Bill) Clark of Oakdale; five grandchildren, one step granddaughter, two step great grandchildren.
Sisters, Mabel Blake, Myrtle Copeland and Lela Watson all of Oakdale, and Eva Solomon of Georgia; brothers, Walter L. Clark of Rockwood, Albert L. Clark of Harriman and Carl B. Clark of Oakdale; aunt, Essie Coffey of Oakdale, several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was Saturday at Rankin Chapel Baptist Church. Revs. Fred Copeland and Mark McCullough officiating. Burial was at Rankin Chapel Cemetery. Kyker Funeral Home was in charge.
