Survivors are his widow, 2 sons and 3 daughters: Leo Otto Alford, (U.S. Navy), Burnham Alford of Seigle Mountain, TN, Mrs. Minnie Starns of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Cora Saal of Amite, Mrs. J.F. Vernon of Brookhaven, MS and Miss Bobbie Alford of Jackson, MS. Services were Wednesday at the Laurel Street Baptist Church and interment at Amite Cemetery.

The 1930 census (enumeration date April 5) in Amite, Tangipahoa Parish, lists Andrew J. Alford, age 75, and his wife Lillie, 52. Her gravestone in Amite Cemetery says " Lillie Saal Alford b. Oct. 7, 1877 d. July 28, 1963."
