He had a first marriage to Mary Jane Roberts. They married on 9 Aug 1867 in Chesterfield, NH. They divorced on 21 Oct 1874 in Rockingham Co., NH. He married Carolyn "Carrie" Bean on 19 Nov 1876 in Glover, VT.
