SHELLEY, ID., - Kathryn Kennedy, 43, of Shelley, died Oct. 11, 1995, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

She was born Jan. 10, 1952, in Idaho Falls, to Asa Virgil and Ethel Belnap Perkes. She was raised in Leslie, Moore and Arco, where she attended schools and graduated from Butte High School in 1970.

In 1970 she married Brent Hillard Braithwaite and they later divorced. She married Daniel K. Jefferis in 1973 and they were later divorced.

On March 31, 1990, she married Bruce C. Kennedy in Las Vegas. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple Sept. 13, 1991. She worked in the health profession for many years, starting as a nurse's aide in the Home Health Program with the Bingham County Health Department. For several years, she worked with the WIC Program at the District 7 Health Department in Idaho Falls. Most recently, she worked at the Idaho Falls Surgical Center.

An active member of the LDS Church, she served in various positions. She loved flowers, had a cheerful disposition with a way of bringing out the best in people, had a keen sense of humor, and a talent for making others laugh. She centered her life around her husband and children, whom she loved.

Survivors include her husband, Bruce C. Kennedy of Shelley; children, Joy Lynn Braithwaite and Steven Daniel Jefferis, both of Pocatello, Mrs. Bill (Christine May) Lloyd of Korea, James Nathan Jefferis and Jenny M. Kennedy, both of Shelley, Benjaman C. Kennedy of Fort Drum, N.Y., and Ann Marie Kennedy of Rexburg; her stepmother, Myrdean Perkes of St. George, Utah; eight brothers, Robert William Perkes, Leon Belnap Perkes, Thomas J Perkes, John Oliver Perkes, Don Carrol Perkes, Duane Wilson Perkes, Theo Douglas Perkes and Marshal Todd Perkes; and three sisters, Jean Bowden, Rabeca Powell and Beth Duncan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Shelley LDS Stake Center with Bishop Alan King of the Shelley LDS 6th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. in Idaho Falls, and Saturday for one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Moreland Cemetery.
