Doyle R. Whorton, 78, of Hot Springs, formerly Malvern, died 8-23-1991, at AMI National Park Medical Center. He was born 11-27-1912 in Kingston, Arkansas to Walter and Francis Burke Whorton. He was a member and trustee of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. He was a retired newspaper carrier for the Arkansas Gazette and the Malvern Daily Record. He is survived by his wife, Ann M. Whorton of hot Springs; five son, Richard Whorton of Maricopa, California, Robert Whorton of Malvern, Daryl Whorton of Hot Springs and Larry and Lonny Whorton of Benton; his mother, Francis S. Whorton of Sioux Falls, SD; one sister, Della Kvistad of lake Okechobee, FL; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Family visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Atkinson Funeral Home. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with elders Wayne Newton and Joe Eckert officiating. Burial will be in Ouachita Cemetery at Donaldson. Pall bearers will be Robert Meeks, Tommy Taylor, Ricky Crites, Elmer Littles, Garland Gore, Tony Hall, Junior Pennington and Tom Dovens. The family will be at the Bob Whorton residence in Central.
