William Thomas Barnett, son of William Harrison and Hannah Barnett, was born December 17, 1850 and passed away at his home near Iberia November 13, 1942, at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 4 days.
On January 4, 1874, he was united in marriage to Nancy M. Pearson, who preceded him in death. To this union seven children were born, Bertie, Ida, Edward, Julia, Lilburn, Sophia, and Owen. In 1915 Mr. Barnett united with the Methodist Church and since had lived a true Christian life.
He came to Miller County from Tennessee when two years of age with his parents and had for the past 48 years lived on his farm south of Iberia..
Mr. Barnett leaves six children, many grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. He was a pioneer resident of the Iberia community and leaves behind him many friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, by the Rev. John Phililps at the Carnes Camp Ground Church with burial in the cemetery there. Funeral arrangements were in charge of Hedges Funeral Home.
