Harvey Lee Flowers, 61 (b. c1940), of Hortense, died Thursday, June 21 (2001), after an extended illness.

The Brantley County native was a member of Hortense Holiness Church and was a retired operator at Georgia Pacific of Brunswick. His father was the late Lee Ross Flowers.

Survivors include his wife, Deloris Levine Herrin Flowers of Hortense; one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Tina Flowers of Hortense; one step-son, Jamie Chesser of Nahunta, one stepdaughter, Fawn Cliatt of Hortense; his mother Onie Lynn Sloan Flowers of Hortense; seven brothers, Ronald Flowers of Brunswick, Elbert Flowers, Lloyd Flowers, Lawrence Flowers, Howard Flowers, Ross Flowers and Wendell Flowers, all of Hortense; three sisters, Lillian Roberson of Milledgeville, Frances Keen of Columbia, SC and Pat Oglesby of Hortense; three grandchildren, Beth Flowers, Dustin Flowers and Brittany Flowers, all of Hortense; one step-grandson, Matthew Cliatt of Hortense; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Saturday at Hortense Church of God of Prophesy with the Rev. Tommy Gill and the Rev. Larry Johns officiating. Interment was in Hortense Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were B.J. Flowers, Cale Flowers, Brad Oglesby, Jason Flowers, Travis Flowers and Rocky Flowers.

Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup was in Charge of Arrangements.
