Mrs. Marie Swan died Wednesday, August 18, 1993, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Mo.
She was born near Chillicothe on December 28, 1912, the daughter of Nelson and Stella Groves Bennett.
She lived in the Brunswick community most of her life and was married to Carl Swan. She worked at the Angelica Garment, Brunswick; a Salisbury Garment factory, and was also a cook at Moser's Coffee Shop and the Brunswick Nursing Home. At the time of her retirement, she was employed by the Missouri Valley Human Resource Development Corporation in Brunswick. She was a member of the Powell Christian Church.
She is survived by one son, Harvey, of Brunswick; a daughter, Karen Peterson, Dennison, Iowa; four brothers, Dick Bennett, Indian Grove, Leroy Peterie, Kansas City, Eldon Peterie and Claude Peterie, both of Laredo; four sisters, Patsy Smith, Fayette, Eileen Lee, Chillicothe, Doris Manning and Grace Tomac, both of Kansas City; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; a granddaughter, Mary Jo Swan, and a brother, John Bennett.
Pallbearers: Robert D. Littrell, Charles Richardson, Rodney Swan, Trent Bennett, Duane Smith and Robbie Littrell.
Honorary pallbearers: Jimmy Swan, Donnie Swan, Al Sorenson and Ray Swan.
Funeral Services: Saturday, August 21, 1993, Brunswick, Mo.
Burial: Elliott Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, Mo.
