During his 7-year career, Rookie helped track down felons and root out narcotics for police in Saginaw and neighboring agencies, schools and senior citizen centers over the years. Rookie also was part of a national study on Ground Zero search dogs. He was the first dog diagnosed with cancer among those that helped find victims of the 9/11 terrorist attack in New York City.
