In Memoriam

Sleep on; dear friend, thy fathers o'er,
Thy willing hands shall tell no
more,
For each of us you did your
best.
We have lost, but God has gained.
One of the best this world
contained.

Inserted by the Krafft family.

In Memoriam In memory of the late Betty
Lund who passed away July 18, 1938.

One month has passed since
that sad day
God called the one we loved
away.
Forget her, no, we never
will.
For in our hearts the liveth
still.
The blow was great, the
shock severe.
We little thought the end
was near.
"Tis only those who have lost cant tell.
The loss of a loved one
without farewell.

Story told by Betty Jane (Lund) Byrum

My mother, Elizabeth, conversed with my grandmother all day in French. She also read her letters from her father's other two daughters and wrote letters in French, for her two half sisters who maiden names would also be Seclair pronounced Sa Clair.

She originally spoke German as the occupied Alsace Lorraine at the time of her childhood. Her father had a tutor for her to learn French. Grandpa spoke only German. They came to the U. S. with several German families one of which was the Earharts who also lived on Witney below the cemetery.

Elizabeth Hilda Lambert and Milton Walter Lund children are:

Robert Milton Lund and Betty Jane Lund.

Robert Milton Lund proceded his mother in death.
