Mr. Earl Hardy, age 81 of San Augustine, Texas, passed away Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009.

Mr. Hardy was born Dec. 22, 1927, as a son of Edna Cox Hardy and Curtis Johnson Hardy and was a longtime area resident. He was a retired pipeliner, having worked with Local #450, and U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of San Augustine Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors: wife, Eveline Hardy of San Augustine; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Mary Kay Hardy of San Augustine; sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris Loggins of San Augustine, Elaine Patterson of Center, Texas, Opal and Truman Hyden of Center, Texas, Josephine "Jo" and Johnny Trahan of Lafayette, Louisiana, Diane and Clivey Sullivan of Center, Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marlin and Lanell Hardy of Center, Jimmy and Peggy Hardy of San Augustine, Marvin and Mary Hardy of henderson, Texas, and Paul "Coonie" and Linda Hardy of Bunkie, Louisiana; grandsons, Landon Hardy of San Augustine and Dustin Hardy of Garland, Texas; and a great-granddaughter, Kyla Presley Hardy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Edna Hardy; a son, Gary Hardy; and a sister, Bobbie Jean Engelman.

Funeral services have been set for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, at the First Baptist Church of San Augustine with Bro. C.G. "Chet" Hensley and Bro. Hiram Helton officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Hill Memorial Garden in San Augustine.

Pallbearers: Landon Hardy, Dustin Hardy, Marlin Hardy, Jimmy Hardy, Marvin Hardy, and Paul "Coonie" Hardy.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine, Texas.
