MAE H."MeMe" DIGGS BARNETT, 79, of Memphis was greeted in Heaven by Jesus & her late husband, Cliff Barnett. She was called home @ 4 a.m. this morning. Retired from Barnett Group/Barnett USA as secretary/treasurer. An avid hunter & fisherman, she was one of the original founding members of Island 66 Hunting Club. She was born in Moscow TN in her home. Loved to travel, gourmet cooking, deep sea fishing & being with her family. She graduated Fayette Co. High School. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Cliff in 1998 & was a member of Berclair Baptist Church. She leaves her heartbroken family, daughters Debbie Slocum, Paula Smithart & Kim Everett, sons Barry (Barbara) Barnett & Bruce (Cathy) Barnett. She also leaves her sisters Bonnie Hopkins, Marcell Rogers, Pat Price & late sister Edna Fortune & late brother James Gordon Diggs. She has nine grandchildren & one great grandchild. Visiation will be from 2-3 p.m., Saturday, with the service immediatly following at 3 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home, with entombment in the Garden of Tranquility at Memorial Park. Dr. Joe Jernigan will be officiating the service. The family requests any memorials be sent to Christian Brothers High School, Evangelical Christian School or the American Cancer Society to banish the disease.
