Son of James Bullock (1811-1859) and Eleanor Thompson Bullock (1818-1887).

Grandson of Hardeman Bullock (1780-1835) and Mary "Polly" Doherty/Darity (1785-1850).

J. L. Bullock Died Early Sunday Morning.

J. L. Bullock, aged 81 years, died at his home a short distance north of this city last Sunday morning, following an illness for several months, death coming at 7 a.m.
The deceased was a staunch citizen of this community, being actively identified with the interest of this section for many years. He united with Lebanon Presbyterian church in 1880, and lived a life of service and usefulness in that church and faith for more than fifty years. He was born in January, 1850.
Funeral service was held from the Lebanon church on Monday morning of this week at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. F. H. McElroy, pastor of the deceased, being the officiating minister. Interment was in the Lebanon Cemetery.
Surviving are four daughters, Misses Ellie and Annie Bullock, Mrs. Mary Sharpe and Mrs. Johnnie Lee Davis; one son, Willie Bullock, all of this city.
