Vernon-Word has been received here of the death of Mrs Abigail Merrell Hibbard,widow of Melvin Hibbard,July 30,1934 in San Jose,Calif.
Mrs Hibbard was born in Vernon Mar.9,1853,daughter of the late Norton G. and Mary J. Merrell. She resided here until about 1891 from which time she has lived in San Jose,Calif.
While here Mrs Hibbard was actively connected with Mt.Vernon Presbyterian Church,and was a teacher of a young women's class in Sunday school,several of the members still residing here.
Surviving are two sisters Mrs Hobart Wetmore and Mrs Elmer Russell of Vernon,also two nephews,Vernon Wetmore,barber of Vernon,and Roland Merrell,Utica.one niece,Mrs Niles M.Faulkner of Vernon.
