Francis Markway, 72, Jefferson City, died Saturday at St. Marys Health Center. He was born Jan. 18, 1922, at Waverly, Kan., a son of Frank C. and Frances Kolb Markway. On May 11, 1946, he was married at Jefferson City to Delores C. Renkemeyer, who died on May 14, 1990.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Jefferson City, and was a veteran of World War II. He was a carpenter.

Survivors include: four sons, Randy Markway, Olathe, Kan., Bruce Markway, Jefferson City, Allen Markway, Little Rock, Ark., and Larry Markway, Columbia; three daughters, Gayla Kempker, Taos, Patti Jeffries, Jefferson City, and Linda Markway, Old Mines; one brother, Don Markway, Jefferson City; two sisters, Carmelita Green, Taos, and Albertine Coffelt, Jefferson City; and 21 grandchildren.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church, with the Rev. Henry Reichert officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dulle Funeral Home. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions have been suggested to Helias Foundation, Hospice of Jefferson City, Immaculate Conception Church, or St. Joachim School, Ole Mines.
