Martha Avis "Mollie" Huston was the tenth child born to James Riley and Ellen D. Wolf Huston, on a farm in Macouplin County, Illinois.

Martha's sibling's were ~ James Washington "Jim", Sarah Angeline (Thayer), William Riley "Will", Henry Harrison, Jacob Benjamin "Jake", George Monroe, John Drake, Mary Ann died at 22 years old from typhoid fever, Joseph Marion "Tobe", Rose Cynthia (Burley) and Myrtle Clarinda "Mabelle" (Bechtel).

Martha Avis "Mollie" Huston was united in marriage with John Jacob "Jake" Dodson on July 9, 1890, in Smith Center, Kansas.

John and Martha were blessed with three children ~ Bernice Maud (Edwards), William Orie Dodson and Iva M. (Leierer).
