Joshua was the son of Joshua and Sarah Jane (Shields) Perfect. The H in his middle name was probably Hickman, as that was his father's middle name, and his grandfather was Joshua Hickman.

Civil War Military History

Joshua Perfect, age 18, enlisted 15 November 1861, Monticello, White County, Indiana, Company G, 46th Indiana Infantry. He was discharged 7 November 1863. He enlisted again 29 March 1864, Indianapolis, Indiana, Company K, 11th Indiana Infantry. He died of disease 20 August 1864.
