AXELROD, Mildred (Curland) Of Brookline, formerly of Needham and Newton, died peacefully in Boston, on Thursday, January 29, 2009, at the age of 91. She was a quilter, scrabbler, Yiddishist, voracious reader, teacher, active Temple member, horticulturist, opera lover, football expert, raconteur, and supreme wit. She was a wonderful mother, wife, sister and friend. Her enthusiasm, curiosity and youthful spirit filled our lives and warmed our hearts. She was a positive force of nature and we will miss her deeply. Beloved wife of the late Edward AXELROD. Devoted mother of Elizabeth, Doris, and the late Stephen Alan AXELROD. Dear sister of David CURLAND and the late Rosalie PECHTHALT and Estelle PARNESS.
Services will be held at Temple Shalom of Newton, 175 Temple Street, West Newton, on Monday, February 2 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon.
