Son of Edmund Wilson Chase and Anna Amy Westfall Chase.

Per Military Records on stone, he is Frank Eugene Chase, born 10 Feb 1885. Per his draft form for WWI, in 1917 in Wyoming, he listed his date of birth is 10 Feb 1890...not 1885 (we think he was trying to be 5 years younger, so he could go fight, which he did). He also stated he was a widower. This wife is unknown, nor in family records.

His 2nd wife is Pearl Elizabeth Bush born in Lawrence County, South Dakota. Daughter of Joseph James Bush & Sarah Eliza Clement Bush. At this time it is unknown as to when she and Frank married and if they had children (none listed in any census), but marriage was sometime after 1920. From that point on, and by military records his says he was born in 1885. Before 1917 census all census records said 1890 as birth year.

Frank and Pearl can be find in the 1940 census in Boise City, Ada, Idaho, where he was stationed, still in the Army, and her kid sister Helen Rose is living with them. Her widowed mother and a couple of other siblings are also living in this same area.

(Note: I sent this to US Veteran Affairs Office who posted his memorial, to make sure I had right person. They transferred his memorial to me, also sending my info back to me. This tells me I have correct person. Sadly we don't know for sure his birth year. Her parents moved to Nebraska in 1885, so could be Edmund was a widower, with a child when they married.)

Thanks to Ellen Hamby for sending me Pearl's memorial number to link them.
