Cecil Breeden was a true HERO on Omaha Beach on D-Day, 1944. He was a medic in Rifle Company A of the 116th Infantry Regiment, 29th Division. This was the first infantry ashore in in the Dog Green sector of Omaha Beach, and they ran straight into murderous German fire. Of the approximately 130 men in Company A, 91 were killed on D-Day itself, most of them never getting off the beach. Others died in the following days and weeks. Cecil Breeden attended to wounded and dying men, and was one of the lucky survivors. He deserves more than this simple stone.
