W. F. Harmon Died At Marcoot Monday.
Walter Fred Harmon, age 31, prominent Chambers Countian, passed away following an illness of only a few hours at his home at Marcoot on Monday, February 17. Mr. Harmon's health had not been good for several years, but his condition was considered much improved lately and his death came as a distinct shock to his relatives and friends.
Survivors are his wife, Hattie F. Harmon; three children, Riser, Janell and Alma; parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Harmon; four brothers, Toker Harmon, W. G. Harmon, and Roy Harmon, Chambers County, and Arnold Harmon, Siluria, AL; and five sisters, Mesdames L. T. Fetner, J. M. Abney, and L. C. Foster, and Misses Thelma Harmon and Virginia Harmon, all of Chambers County.
Funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church, with *Rev. G. D. Hunt and *Rev. C. M. Meire officiating. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery with J. E. Cutler, local funeral director, in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were brothers and brothers-in-law of the deceased: Arnold Harmon, Toker Harmon, W. G. Harmon, Roy Harmon, J. M. Abney and L. T. Fetner.
*Note: G. D. Hunt was pastor of Pleasant Grove Christian Church, and C. M. Meire was pastor of First Baptist Church, LaFayette.
