Mary was married two times. First husband, John Henderson was a native of Irelend. They had two children: Joseph Henderson and Mary (Mrs. Callahan). John died in 1867.
In May 1870 Mary became the wife of Peter Madison and together they had six children: Annie (Mrs. Murray); Agnes (Mrs. Muller); Helen (Mrs. White); Henry; Margaret Emily (Mrs. Johnson); and Isabelle (Mrs. Griggs). Peter died in 1903.

Mrs. Mary Madison, an Aged and Highly Esteemed Resident of Napa, Answers Final Summons.
Mrs. Mary Madison, a resident of this city for the past twenty-six years, passed away at 5 o'clock Tuesday afternoon [July 22] at the family residence at 728 North Main street.
Deceased was a native of Queens county, Ireland, aged 80 years. She came to California in 1860 and four years later she settled in Wild Horse Valley.
Surviving are these brothers and sisters: Mrs. W. G. Butler, Napa; Mrs. Elizabeth Casey, San Francisco; Mrs. Kate Christy, Oakland; John Ryan, Sacramento; and these children: Mrs. J. Callahan, Sacramento; Mrs. Owen Muray, Henry Madison, Mrs. H. H. Muller, Napa; Mrs. Wirt White [nee Helen Madison], Wooden Valley; Mrs. William Johnson, Berkeley, Mrs. Jos. Griggs, Oakland; Joseph Henderson, San Jose.
There are also sixteen grandchildren.
Services will take place Friday morning from the residence of Owen Murray, 119 Lincoln Avenue, and thence to the Catholic church at 9:30 o'clock." END
