Maggie Faye Retherford Bonner, age 95, a long time resident of Lockhart, went to her eternal home on April 9, 2006.
Faye was born on Oct. 5, 1910, in Gonzales County to Emily Gertrude Killian Retherford and William Collier Retherford. In 1925, the Retherford family moved from the farm near Harwood to Lockhart. Faye attended the Lockhart School and Beautician School in Salt Lake City, Utah. She practiced her beautician profession for many years. She had been a long-time member of the Lockhart Church of Christ. She loved and was loved in return. She will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands James Winston Botter and Roy Calhoun Bonner; three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her son, John Kent Botter and wife Karen Uhl Botter; her grandchildren, Justin Kyle Botter and Kaydee Jill Botter, all of San Antonio; one sister, Mattie Lee Retherford Richardson of Grapevine; many nieces, nephews, friends and her church family.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2006, at McCurdy Memorial Chapel with Bob Hailey officiating. Internment will follow in Lockhart City Cemetery.
