Santa Dick, 99, formerly of 170 Conger Ave., died Saturday January 24, 2009 at Samaritan Keep Home, where she had been a resident for the past four years.
Miss Dick worked at Taggarts Paper Company and Brownville Paper Company, retiring in June 1973.
Born March 17, 1909, in Musellaro, Italy, daughter of Peter and Mary Stella Marinilli Dick, she came to the United States when she was nine months old and attended Watertown schools.
Miss Dick was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and member of the Altar and Rosary Society, Italian American Civic Association Auxiliary and the Greater Watertown Senior Citizens. She enjoyed plants, gardening, knitting and crocheting.
Surviving are two sisters, Lena Bearup and Mary Dick, both of Watertown, and several nieces and nephews.
Four brothers, Ralph, John N., James and Joseph R., and four sisters, Dora Mecomonaco, Nellie Augustine, Lucy G. Fisher and Lesa Boulware, died before her.
A prayer service will be at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at D.L. Calarco Funeral Home followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church with Monsignor Anthony Milia officiating. A committal service will be held in Glenwood Mausoleum. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
