Born to James G. and Josephine (Koenen) Baxter, Adam first married Lillian B. Wolfe on Jan. 30, 1943 in Orlando, FL. She died August 30, 1980. He later married Gladys Edwards on Nov. 6, 1983 in Canton. She died August 27, 2006.

Surviving are one son, Warren (Carol) Baxter; four stepsons, Larry (Carolyn) Edwards, Donald (Sundra) Edwards, William Edwards and Gerald (Betty) Wingerter; two stepdaughters, Carolyn (Robert) Runyan and Melba (Joseph) Picton; one grandson, Stephen Baxter; several step grandchildren; several step great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Agnes "Peggy" Baxter; and one brother-in-law, Roland (Lois) Dearing.

Also preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers and three sisters.

He worked for International Harvester, Canton for 37 years as a cost accountant retiring in 1973. He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Canton. He was an Army veteran serving during WWII from 1942 to 1945.

Burial will be in White Chapel Memory Gardens, Canton.
