RUTH V. ALEXANDER, longtime Millington resident, passed away January 21, 2009. She was born on December 20, 1918. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, January 25, with a service at 11 a.m. Monday, January 26, both at Munford Funeral Home Millington Chapel. Interment will be in Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery. Mrs. Alexander was a devoted wife for 63 years to her loving husband, Joe Alexander, Sr. and caring mother to son, Joe Alexander Jr. and daughter, Lynda Alexander and loving grandmother to Christopher and David Mischak. As her children matured, she and Joe Sr. followed their lifelong passion- traveling with their Airstream Trailer. They were active in the Memphis Chapter of the Airstream Club and traveled extensively throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Henry Dickens and Antoinette Devereaux McIver. Throughout her life, Ruth was a giving, loving, loyal and faithful friend, wife and mother. She enjoyed her family, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews immensely. Ruth was a sensitive and compassionate woman who will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
