Death Claims Mrs. Munro At Carrollton
Carrollton, GA., - Mrs. Anna Merritt Munro, 83, wife of the late Judge George P. Munro, former judge of Chattahoochee Circuit of Superior Courts and Columbus attorney, died here yesterday. She died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Irvine S. Ingram, wife of the president of West Georgia College.
Until Judge Munro's death in 1949, Mrs. Munro lived in Columbus. A son, Dr. Paul M. Munro, formerly was superintendent of Columbus schools, and at present is superintendent of schools in Lynchburg, Va.
Mrs. Munro was born Jan. 16, 1870, in Sumter County, Ga., a daughter of the late Capt. Thomas Mickleberry Merritt and Mrs. Anna Lewis Merritt.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Roswell Merritt, Houston, Tex., and Mrs. James C. Bonner, Milledgeville, Ga., and two sisters, Mrs. T. H. Boone, Macon, Ga., and Mrs. George W. Lee, Parrott, Ga.
A son, Capt. George Norman Munro, was killed in France in World War I.
Funeral was to be at Buena Vista Methodist Church at 3 p.m. today with the Rev. Bob Padgett, pastor, conducting the service. Burial will be in the Methodist Cemetery in Buena Vista.
Pallbearers will be Ernest Stevens, Clark Duncan, Robert P. Stevens, Tom Hollis, Hollis Croxton, and Joseph Rogers. An honorary escort will be composed of members of the George Norman Munro Post, American Legion.
